The job application tracker
you can start using today

A free Notion template that keeps every application in one table: status, company, role, and your next action date. Duplicate it into your own Notion and start logging in minutes.

Free. Open the page in Notion and click Duplicate.

What it is

The hardest part of a job search usually isn't the resume. It's that everything is scattered: recruiter messages in one app, interview invites in your inbox, the company list in a notes file. Every morning starts with the same question: who hasn't replied, and who am I talking to next?

The free lite version is just the tracker table: one row per application, with a status, the company, the role, a next action, and a next action date. That's enough to answer the morning question in one glance.

The 4 minimal-tracking rules

  1. One status per application

Every application sits in exactly one stage, from applied through interview to offer, or closed. If you can't say which stage a company is in, you haven't really followed up.

  2. Company, role, next action date

"Waiting to hear back" isn't progress. Progress is something you do: follow up today, send a portfolio by Friday. A follow-up without a date usually never happens.

  3. Two follow-ups, then close it

After two follow-ups with no answer, the next status can only be withdrawn or declined. No more "I'll give it another week."

  4. A weekly check of three numbers

New applications this week, companies at the interview stage, and applications that haven't moved in 7+ days. Every stale one gets a decision: follow up once more, or close it.

Honestly, these rules matter more than any template. Start with the free tracker; upgrade only if it sticks.
